Like many people in Canada and The United States I watched in disappointment last week as the Vancouver Canucks, the NHL’s top ranked team, lost the Stanley Cup to the Boston Bruins 4-0 in Vancouver. It was up in the air all series but my money was on the Canucks. Even so Boston played better and deserved the win they fought hard for. Good on them. Mobile video viewed mainly with Apple devices

A new report released by FreeWheel states that the vast majority of video views on mobile devices happen on Apple products, namely the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. FreeWheel reported that four-fifths of all mobile video views happen on Apple iOS devices and that “wireless video viewing is still small compared to online video viewing in general (less than 1%)…” Sourced from GIGAOM.

No question gear in this industry is expensive. I dread the day a camera heads to the graveyard or an unknown ($$$) repair shop and money needs to be forked over for a new one or a costly fix. Thankfully there’s plenty of companies around willing to help out with a wide assortment of rain gear and rubber guards but I learned yet again that protective gear is only as useful as the operator ignoring it. The revolution taking place in Syria is much like the revolutions that have taken place throughout the middle east. Recently I joined the Facebook group The Syrian Revolution 2011 thinking it would provide some information on the latest events in Syria and I’m surprised at the level of content. The near 205,00 member page features well over 400 videos of protests, political statements, violence, and unrest along with thousands of images and photographs.
